Silver Linings

"There's absolutely nothing good about tragedy and loss, but something of value can come from the struggle in their aftermath.
—Sonja Lyobomirsky, psychology professor and author of
The How of Happiness.

Take a moment to think about these questions:

  1. Have you gained any value or benefit from the experience of caring for your brain-injured loved one?
  2. How has your loved one's brain injury pushed you into new roles and situations?
  3. How has your perspective on life changed?
  4. How have your relationships changed?
  5. Do you believe you can persevere and even triumph over challenges now?
  6. Do you feel more compassion now for other people who are suffering?

And then, please do send us your "silver lining"—how caring for your brain-injured family member may have changed your life in some small way for the better.
